As the crow flies, Palm Mar would be just a stroll from Los Cristianos. However this is not possible because Palm Mar is situated on the other side of the mountain at the far end of Los Cristianos. For years there has been talk of tunnels and water taxi’s making the journey quicker and more efficient. Some would ask why? Because left as it is, it has a relaxing and tranquil and increasingly sophisticated mood. On the approach way to palm Mar the road is framed with plants and trees and there is even a white archway with the PALM MAR sign, al la MARBELLA! 

           Properties in Palm mar started to be built at a fast rate in the mid 1990,s. Large apartments and Villa’s but not many townhouses. The land by the sea was the first to be bought and popular properties in Pal Mar were sold quickly. Las Arenitas, Cape Salema, Laderas de Palm Mar, Los Balandros and Bahia de los Menceys to name just a few properties in Palm Mar that are still very popular. As the front properties were built and sold then of course more construction took place a touch more inland and the sophisticated and modern complex of Las Olas was completed in 2008. As time goes by and more people are moving into the area, there are more restaurants and shops opening. This is making the area more appealing and people are finding it easier to buy properties in Palm Mar as this infrastructure grows. In the earlier days the comment was, “It is beautiful but there is not much to do here”. We even have the promenade finished to walk along and there is talk of a new lido pool area like the one in Puerto de La Cruz.
