When Playa de Las Americas was expanding, properties were being built west towards La Caleta and East towards Loc Cristianos. People still wanted to be as close to the popular resort of Playa de Las Americas and so properties started to go higher (Alto) and soon the birth of San Eugenio Alto took place. San Eugenio is an area that runs into Playa de Las Americas and the properties that were built there were walk able to the beach. More recently the properties have been built so high up that a car would be essential, certainly going up the hill if not down. From the very top the views of the sea can be very spectacular. Some of the properties with the views often are so proud that they name the properties to include this fantastic asset, Dream view, Ocean view are two examples. In more recent times the properties that have been built in San Eugenio Alto are large, fabulous, grand designs and probably some of the nicest properties in the south are here. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the area without going to far a field from your property in San Eugenio Alto so it is a resort that is becoming more and more popular. Properties in San Eugenio range in price, the smaller linked villas on the way up can start at €350,000 to €700,000. The larger detached properties start from €1,000.000 upwards. The most expensive property sold in the early 2000,s was near the €5,000.000 mark.
